Olivia Bell Mason has had a life-long love of playing with fabrics. As a young girl, she was first taught by her mother to sew clothes, using an ancient Singer Sewing machine. Making hippie skirts soon evolved into art-inspired patchwork quilts created with vibrant batik cottons. The hand-printed free flowing colors of those exotic batiks inspired Olivia to pursue a formal education in textile design. She was accepted into the College of Visual and Performing Arts at U. Mass Dartmouth, where she earned, in 2013, a Certificate of Artisanry in Textile Design. Olivia then moved full time to the island of Martha's Vineyard, and has sold her hand painted as well as hand dyed silk scarves at the Vineyard Artisan Festivals for the past four years. This year, she has expanded her exquisite scarf collection of Vineyard-inspired designs and color palettes for sale at Sioux Eagle Designs, where she is employed.
